Lip Blush Healing Process: What to Expect Day by Day

Written by Giang February 28, 2026

The Journey to Perfect Lips

Aquarelle Lip Blush is a transformative treatment that adds a beautiful, semi-permanent tint to your lips. However, understanding the healing process is crucial for a stress-free experience.

Days 1-2: Bright & Swollen

Immediately after the procedure, your lips will feel slightly swollen and tender, similar to having lip filler. The color will appear extremely bright and bold—like a heavy lipstick. This is temporary. Use ice packs wrapped in clean cloth to reduce swelling.

Days 3-5: The Chapped Phase

The swelling will subside, but your lips will start to feel very dry and chapped. The pigment may look darker before it begins to peel. Keep your lips constantly moisturized with the provided aftercare ointment. Do NOT pick or bite the peeling skin.

Days 6-10: The Color Loss

The peeling finishes, and many clients experience "color panic." The color may look like it has completely disappeared. This is normal! The new skin healing over the tattoo is hiding the pigment underneath.

Weeks 3-4: The True Color

The color "blooms" back to the surface, revealing a soft, natural, beautiful tint. You will see about 40-50% less intensity than on Day 1.

Week 6: The Touch-Up

Your lips are fully healed, and it's time for the perfection session. We will assess the color retention and reinforce areas that faded, ensuring your lip blush lasts 1-2 years.
