The Ultimate Microblading Aftercare Guide for Perfect Healing

Written by Giang March 5, 2026

Congratulations on Your New Brows!

Proper aftercare is just as important as the microblading procedure itself. It accounts for 50% of your final healed result. Here is our expert guide to protecting your investment.

The First 48 Hours

Keep them clean and dry. Gently dab the freshly tattooed area with a clean tissue every few hours to absorb any excess lymph fluid. This prevents thick scabbing, which can pull pigment out of the skin.

Days 3-10: The Peeling Phase

  • Washing: Starting on day 3, gently wash your brows morning and night with a mild, antibacterial soap. Use only your fingertips in a light, sweeping motion. Pat dry completely.
  • Ointment: Apply a rice-grain amount of the provided aftercare ointment. Do not over-apply; the skin needs to breathe.
  • NO PICKING: Your brows will start to flake and peel. Never pick, scratch, or pull at the flakes, as this will result in patchiness and scarring.

What to Avoid for 14 Days

  • Heavy sweating (gym, saunas)
  • Direct water pressure in the shower
  • Swimming in pools or the ocean
  • Direct sun exposure or tanning beds
  • Makeup, lotions, or skincare products directly on the brows

The Color Shock

Don't panic! During the first week, your brows will appear much darker and bolder than expected. Around day 7-10, the color will soften. Sometimes, the strokes may appear to vanish completely before reappearing during weeks 3-4. This is a normal part of the skin's healing cycle.

The Touch-Up

Microblading is a two-step process. Your required touch-up session at 4-6 weeks will fill in any gaps, adjust the color, and perfect the shape once the skin has fully healed.
